Whether your child is new to tackle football or returning for another season, we're excited to welcome your family to Bolts Football Club. We've made the process simple so your player can get ready for an unforgettable season.
Bolts Football Club welcomes current 4th and 5th grade students who will be entering 5th and 6th grade.
We proudly serve families throughout North Liberty, Coralville, Iowa City, and surrounding communities, with many of our players coming from the following elementary schools:
Whether your child is transitioning from flag football, returning for another tackle season, or trying football for the first time, our experienced volunteer coaches meet players where they are.
Every athlete has the opportunity to develop football fundamentals, build confidence, strengthen character, and be part of a team that values effort, growth, and sportsmanship.

Complete your player's online registration before the season begins.

Players will be fitted for helmets, shoulder pads, and other required equipment.

Players are assigned to teams and introduced to their coaches before practices begin.

Attend practices, participate in the combine and jamboree, then get ready for an exciting season of Bolts Football Club.
We equip every player to play hard and stay safe. Each athlete receives:
Helmet

Mouthguard
Practice jersey
To complete your player’s gear and get them field-ready, families are responsible for:
Cleats
Practice pants
Water bottle
Optional: gloves, padded undershirts, or additional protective gear
Does my child need football experience?
No. We welcome players of all experience levels. Whether they're coming from flag football or trying tackle football for the first time, our coaches focus on teaching football fundamentals in a positive, supportive environment.
Can girls play for Bolts Football Club?
Absolutely. Bolts Football Club welcomes both boys and girls entering our 5th and 6th grade tackle football program. Every player has the opportunity to learn, compete, and be part of the team.
Where are practices held?
Practices are held at James Van Allen Elementary School, 170 Abigail Ave, North Liberty, IA 52317.
Where are home games played?
Home games are played at Liberty High School, 1400 S Dubuque St, North Liberty, IA 52317.
Is equipment provided?
Yes. Through our partnership with the Youth Sports Foundation (YSF), Bolts Football Club provides each player with a helmet, mouthguard, shoulder pads, game pants, game jersey, and practice jersey. Families are responsible for providing football cleats and a refillable water bottle.
Is financial assistance available?
Yes. As a nonprofit organization, Bolts Football Club is committed to making youth football accessible for every family. Financial assistance is available for qualifying families. If registration costs are a concern, please contact us to learn more about available assistance.
How often do teams practice?
Practice schedules are shared before the season begins. Most teams practice multiple times each week during the preseason, with practices adjusting once games begin.
Can my child play if they attend a different school?
Yes. Bolts Football Club welcomes eligible players from North Liberty, Coralville, Iowa City, and surrounding communities. If you're unsure whether your child is eligible, contact us—we're happy to help.
What if my child is nervous about playing?
Many players are new to tackle football. Our experienced coaches help every athlete build confidence while learning proper technique, teamwork, and player safety.
How can I volunteer?
Bolts Football Club is powered by volunteers. Families have opportunities to help with concessions, game day operations, fundraising, and special events throughout the season.
